"The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are."
C. G. Jung
A native of New England, I first took the MBTI(R) personality assessment in 1989 while living in St. Louis, Missouri.
Since my personality type preferences are for INFJ, the rarest of the 16 types, taking the MBTI tool and having my results interpreted was a life - changing experience! It was as if, for the first time, someone other than my parents and teachers was telling me it was OK to be who I am!
In November 1998 I became certified (then called "qualified") through the Association for Psychological Type (APT) to administer and interpret the MBTI assessment. See my blog post, "Discovering a New World" to learn the exciting process that I went through to become MBTI certified! In January 2012, feeling that my training needed updating, I went through CPP's MBTI certification training in Austin, Texas. This training also certified me for the first time to use the MBTI Step II(TM), which provides a more in - depth look at differences between people with the same type preferences. It also had the added bonus of certifying me to purchase and administer the FIRO-B(R) and FIRO Business(R) assessments. In March 2014 I completed the new Murphy - Meisgeier Type Indicator for Children(R) (MMTIC(R)) online certification offered by the
Center for Applications of Psychological Type, Inc. (CAPT).
My degrees include a BA in Psychology and Religion from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina; an MSW from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri; and an MA in Urban Affairs from St. Louis (Missouri) University. I have lived in the San Antonio, Texas area since 1993 and have worked for many years in the fields of social work and educational assessments.
I belong to the Association for Psychological Type (APT), The World Type Alliance (WTA), and several MBTI groups on LinkedIn and Facebook. I am passionate about the MBTI personality assessment!
