Upon entering the Festival grounds, one of the first sights to greet a visitor is a large sign which says Welcome Home. After driving up to the ticket booth to exchange a ticket for a wrist band and program, one's ears also receive the greeting "Welcome Home" from Festival volunteers.
One of the advantages of life in San Antonio, Texas, is our close proximity to the Kerrville Folk Festival, which is about 1 1/2 hours away. It is known as the world's largest folk festival, extending over 18 days and claiming many devoted performers and audience members. A large scenic ranch between Kerrville and Medina, far from the nearest store or streetlight, is the home of this iconic 44 - year - old festival.
